About D. Herbold

Argh!David’s original pursuit was that of professional cyclist having spent about 10 years climbing through the ranks of Arizona regional road and off-road racing winning a handful of races & championships along the way. Around the time of this blogs creation, he stripped of the gears and dropped out of traditional competition in order to simplify both his mind & his effort. Back in 2004, he even won one of those “unrecognized” National Single Speed Championships & he’s still waiting for Gary Fisher to offer him that big racing contract.
Now days though, he’s the proud papa of Nathaniel James and generally just likes to hang out with the little guy and Ang, ride a little & ski a bit. What you read here generally revolves around his life which is comprised of his family, cycling, skiing, & the associated web fodder.

Onespeeder.com began around 2003 as a way to speak about all things onespeeding (although it is less restrictive these days) and to staying current with web-development both in regards to its technology & its design trends. Since then, it has morphed though various versions and setups with the past three versions having relied on opensource tools such as wordpress & its contributors for content management, as well as standards based design for the presentation.

Its current state is approximately the 8th version and is comprised of the following:

…and is built with:

Why list all that techy crap? David received an overpriced, under qualified design degree from a miscellaneous design college back in 2001 and has continued to pound his head against the wall of contemporary web-design & development ever since. Even though he has that formal education, he considers himself a self-taught web monkey; the fruits of that self garnered knowledge seen here and a few other places. Indeed he does enjoys taking on freelance gigs from time to time as a way to help others get what they can from their online ideas.

Got an Idea you want on the web… do you care about it? Drop him a line, maybe he can help.
