Flagstaff Snow
I suppose there’s a hippy douche bag somewhere, in all her hindsighted wisdom, saying that 2008 was bound to be a record year for Flagstaff snow because the equator of venus was lined up with the Chinese Calandar’s year of the squid or some bullshit to that effect. I generally blame those people for having to be medicated, but whatever. We’re not even in March yet - which is historically the heaviest snowfall month of the year - and the pow pow cats n dogs are having a good time out der. Some dat white ha puffy pow pow.
It’s all schniggy up until about now. I want some dirt. Fuck snow. After reading about the 2008 24 Hour in the Old Pueblo instead of attending it for the first time in a few years, all it did was get my jones on. Tonight, I dusted off the rollers an spun out some quiet noise in Corrie’s apartment while watching a whole episode of Lost (Season 2, episode 1… and I can’t believe they’re going into the subterranean vault thing, those crazy kids0) and it felt real nice. Like home in a way.
Otherwise, we FINALLY begain the moving process at the shop. I think everyone is stoked. Randy dug out the bike trailer yesterday to haul all the shit from the old shop over, 100 yards, to the new shop. The floors are finaly painted and we built up some of the Specialized point of sale shit today and also some of the 3 teired bike racks. Good times. The place is going to be awesome. I’ve been spending a bit of time over the past 4 weeks knocking out storage shelving in the back areas. One or two more of those to go, and I’ll be done fucking with 2×4’s. If my dumb ass ever thought I wanted to be a contruction worker, I can now lay that idiocy to rest. Construction is lame. Bottom line.
The forcast is saying good chances that the snow will continue through the weekend. I guess I’m going to accept that. I guess that wasn’t the last time I will ride the rollers. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out for a run in the white na na and then later in the week, I’m going to wax up my skate skis and call The Joe up to go hit up some crust cruis’n up on da mesa skate. I think I’m done shelling out for telemark this season. We’ll see how it goes though.
Either way, should be a good time.
