Because others are doing thing.
Greetings everyone,
This is the first chance since yesterdays start of Race Across America 2007 in Oceanside, CA. Right now I’m in Congress, AZ; 341.6 miles into it. As you may or may not have guessed, the field is really spread out by now. Jure Robic, is in first place, already having gone through Flagstaff, AZ.I spent most of the day yesterday giving riders and their crews warnings for not following rules. Some hadn’t even read them yet! It’s always a very nerve racking day because it’s chaotic for the first 24 hours until the ‘field’ settles down and the inexperienced get their ‘game on’. I finally called it a night at approx. 2AM after I felt the riders and crews within my reach were going to be safe for their first night out. I was out in front of the Joshua Tree National Park when I decided to get some sleep; so I drove back into the park and pulled out my sleep gear in Cottonwood campground and turned-in about 3AM for a two-three hour morning siesta. It was beautiful to wake up in the J.T.N. Park and smell the familiar smell of Creosote. I gathered-up a little (Creosote) for a Creosote smoke bath…somewhere later down the road. (I recently read about the amazing properties of Creosote and how even the smoke has antiseptic qualities to it! - Killing the germs and stink even with-out H2O!! How cool is that…I’ll let ya’ll know how it works-out.)
Well amigo’s y amiga’s I need to wrap it up in order to keep on keeping on. Right now for me life is a 3-week,6-7K mile non-stop adventure! I look forward to what’s around the next corner. But I gotta head-out to see what that next bend brings!
Life is really what cha’make of it. Make it great!!!
Saludos desde RAAM,
tu amigo,
Noe
P.S.=UPDATE: “mb”,” Robic and Fasching are now thru TS # 10; a whopping 569.9 miles already compleated!
