Noe on RAAM part deux

More on too long a race:

Good evening everyone,

This makes Update #2 from the road in 2007 RAAM! It’s been absolutely outstanding thus far. Right now I’m in Tuba City, AZ., in some of the most breath-taking landscapes this gorgeous State has to offer up. I was treated to a quintessential Arizona sunset this evening as I made my way out of Flagstaff and into Reservation country.

The racers are at a critical point right now as those who are not yet in Colorado try to make it to Cortez and time station (TS) 14, the first of three time cut-offs. Tuba CIty is TS # 10 and Cortez is #14; another 250 miles away! At this point, it crunch time…and for some it’s really a mathematical decision, which for some will mean this year is not going to be a finish in Atlantic City. As a matter of fact, as I sit here a female solo rider, (#115, Hana Ebertova of Czech) rolled in and I just spoke (w/ the only one who sorta speaks english) to the team manager about this very same topic, making the cut-off! If Hana gets after it and she gets a leniency (which is often considered at this stage) from HQ, she just might be able to continue on to the Atlantic Ocean. I certainly will be putting good thoughts out to her to make it to the cut-off.

Well hey my amigos y amigas, it’s getting late and I need to head East…WAY East, so that’s all for now but send the replies if you’re so inclined. They are certainly a welcome suprise from outside my RAAM-road bubble.

from the route of RAAM,

I wish good onto you all,

Noe
