2007 Circumcision
The Circumcision came round. It was hot and stingy as expected. One of the harder group rides around maybe…I dunno. 2.5 days of riding from flagstaff, to Sedona, then around the city on the primo hot trails with a dip at buddha beach, ah. Then back up the hill.
Friday night, upon the directive of Frye, we slept between the white rocks of “TRUTH” across from some Hobo digs in the middle of a bad trip unknown. We saw that hobo in town later that day.
16ish riders showed from across az and the pace was within a painful range most of the time due to the heat and social pressures of it all. Good times.
The Joe and self, having predefine responsibilities and lacking want, split from the Hobo sandwich and made it back up the rim by Sat eve…then the rest of the way home early sunday morning. The climb out Schnebly reminded me of the heat one feels when climbing out of the riuns of the Gila. Nothing to do but try & quiet the mind & steady the pain load.
The rest of the wrecking crew made it out to chicken point that Saturday eve for the night, returning to flagstaff the following day.
Now it’s tuesday and I hear that the elf known as Blair has a little race up on Schultz inbetween the thunder.
Is it summertime or what?
