Ja Mon Da?

January 29th, 2007

I gotta thank the tRoy. If not for he, I’d still be here crying in the corner like a little accordion monkey. Sumed & Rolled, we trooped for a quick ditty in the odd vortexes of the Cinders. What you wouldn’t pay to go see is one of the cooler places aqui…especially now with the winter gloaming over all the light. Damn that low sun.

We got in five or so runs; ride down for a good short while, then hike ass back up the hill. We went out two runs from the car running a loop through some good Northside King. The craters seem endless and what dirt is showing on the over-easy, is the same in snow on the other. The first run was a straight drop into a crater for two hundred yards or so. Steepish. Felt like 45º on the way out. And when was the last time I snowboarded into a crater? Never. It was fuck’n a killer. Art on the tele’s straight gapped tRoy and Puffy Gnome here. We holed & overlanded while Art stayed low and shuffled. He waited at the car as we found an extra run on the way back too. That one I spied on the way out and wanted to be sure to hit up on the rebound. It was in the form of a natural half pipe that was maybe 300 yards long (maybe longer, maybe bullshit), naturally consistent and smoof. Reminded me of skating at the Upland Pipline. An extinct skate park of the 70’s/80’s. Wholesome Sawheat baby jesus both. life was good back then & life is good meow. Our last run back to the car was on a strip of candy coat across a whoop section that lasted 200+ yards, perhaps mas. The whoops were about 8-10 foot on center. Like pushing in on foam curl. tRoy bunny hopped a gap and snagged another 40 feet.

It’s Ghetto like that.

On the other stoked hand, Angiesta and peepself found a nice little casita townhome up the hill to squat in for the next 6 months. We’ve been jonsin to get this move on, no matter where it was going to go. As it were, we’ve decided to scrape by here in dirtville for another 6 months. That’s how long we think we can hold out. The quick money is in Phoenix so perhaps after el nino is born, we will revise but if things are good here, then we’re here. For now, we’re going to give it some stick for a bit more. Truth of the matter is, we’re both pretty scared, but every day we work through it together and it gets better and better. We’re going to be pretty stoked just to have some personal chill time before game day.

Namaste and all that shit.
