The fresh white goodness is finally rolling down from the heavens here in phlag. I love it. I dig the change, and I dig feeling like a kid playing in the snow, especially at night. The clouds keep the city light trapped in and this place becomes fun with the city light glow. Although it means the end of trail riding for a few months up here, there’s always Sedona, our reprieve from the cold just 40 minutes south by car. It doesn’t get any better than that really.
Last year, Troy turned me onto some inner basin snow board adventures that I will not soon forget. I’ve never been turned on by the getto ski slopes here, nor the chair lifts of any place because I’m so hard up the idea that if you want to go down, you ought to work to get up. Just like riding. Earn your turn. I used a free lift ticket last year for a day and the sense of satisfaction that I had after doing ten runs that day via the lifts, wasn’t the same as snowshoeing up for one run. Yea, I know it’s my stupid deal and I’m sure it’d be different if I was in a legit ski area. Regardless, I hope that I can do a few of those again this year even though it will be a bit harder.
The one thing that will make it possible is that Angie and I have it pretty dialed and I think we both will have time to do what we want.
The newest name on the baby block is Ruby Marie. We’ll try that one out for a while to see if it sticks. I dig it. We’ll be able to find out the sex of our lil love baby in a few weeks. It’s all pretty sweet.
